MUMBAI, India, Sept. 12 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202441016567 A) filed by Hindustan Aeronautics Limited, Bengaluru, Karnataka, on March 7, 2024, for 'pitch locking device to aid helicopter rotor blade folding.'
Inventor(s) include Haresh Kumar.
The application for the patent was published on Sept. 12, under issue no. 37/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A pitch locking device (200) for helicopter rotor blade (2) to prevent rotational movement during folding of said blade comprising a C shaped bracket assembly (30) with two lugs (34,35) welded on one flange (33), wherein said lugs (34,35) are having a hole (36,37) to insert a quick release pin (40), a L shaped bracket assembly (20) with stiffening element (21,23) welded, a C shaped bracket assembly (10), a quick release pin (40) with a handle (43) at first end and a spring mounted spherical ball (42) at second end of said quick release pin (40), wherein said bracket (30) on face (32) and said bracket (10) on face (13) of said bracket (20) on face (24,32) are welded to form an assembly (100), and wherein two of said assembly (100) further assembled with said quick release pin (40) to form said locking device (200)."
