Inventor(s) include Dr. Mukesh Maithani; Dr. Richa Raturi; Dr. Puja Gulati; Dr. Hemraj Sharma; Dr. Vikas Gupta; and Dr. Gunpreet Kaur.

The application for the patent was published on June 5, under issue no. 23/2026.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present invention relates to a topical anti-acne serum composition comprising selected medicinal plant extracts and a plant-derived biosurfactant system, and a method for its preparation. Medicinal plant materials comprising Hemidesmus indicus roots, Symplocos racemosa bark, and Tinospora cordifolia stem are processed using an aqueous alcoholic solvent system, while Pongamia pinnata seed oil and a biosurfactant system comprising soapnut extract and flaxseed mucilage are integrated to form a stable delivery matrix. The plant-derived biosurfactant acts as a natural stabilizing agent to improve the spreadability and absorption of active botanical ingredients into the skin. This creates a product that has improved mechanical properties, sebum control, and synergistic anti-microbial activity on acne-causing bacteria compared to products without the biosurfactant system. This invention creates a source of renewable non-irritating acne treatments that are derived from plants and replace traditional synthetic products while improving the activity and skin compatibility of phytochemicals."
