MUMBAI, India, Nov. 28 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202531011193 A) filed by Siksha O Anusandhan, Bhubaneswar, Orissa, on Feb. 10, for 'plant grafting device.'

Inventor(s) include Dr. Debashis Hota.

The application for the patent was published on Nov. 28, under issue no. 48/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A plant grafting device, comprises of a rectangular base 101 having four telescopic rods 102 attached underneath the base 101 and having motorized omnidirectional wheels 103 at the ends for locomotion of the base 101, an L-shaped telescopic link 108 mounted on the base 101 and having a power shear 109 at an end for cutting of a branches of a plants, a pair L-shaped telescopic bars 110 installed on the base 101 by means of a primary ball and socket joints 111, having clippers at the ends for holding plant and branch, an artificial intelligence-based imaging unit 112 to determine position of the cut branch and plant, a microphone 120 for receiving an audio command from the user regarding taping the grafted branch, and a motorized roller 117 over a slider 116 containing a spool of an adhesive tape 118 for a taping of grafted branch."
