MUMBAI, India, July 25 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202517064722 A) filed by Basf Agricultural Solutions US Llc, Research Triangle Park, U.S.A., on July 7, for 'plants having increased tolerance to herbicides.'

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present invention refers to a plant or plant part comprising a polynucleotide encoding a mutated cellulose synthase (CESA) polypeptide, the expression of said polynucleotide confers to the plant or plant part tolerance to CESA-inhibiting herbicides, such as azines."
