MUMBAI, India, May 1 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202641047783 A) filed by Francis Xavier Engineering College, Tirunelveli, Tamil Nadu, on April 15, for 'play2give gamified fundraising platform.'

Inventor(s) include A. Suba; S. Piramu Chendu; and P. G. Nithyasri Poorani.

The application for the patent was published on May 1, under issue no. 18/2026.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The Gamified Fundraiser Platform is an innovative solution aimed at transforming the landscape of digital charity by converting user engagement into meaningful financial contributions for trusts and charitable organizations. Unlike traditional fundraising methods that rely heavily on direct donations, this platform introduces an interactive and inclusive approach where users can contribute simply by participating in engaging activities such as playing games, watching advertisements, and completing tasks. At the core of the system is the concept of engagement-driven fundraising, where the time and effort invested by users are monetized through ad revenue and in-app reward mechanisms. For instance, as users play games or interact with the platform, advertisements are strategically displayed, and the revenue generated from these ads is converted into virtual credits. These credits, along with game-based rewards, are then translated into real monetary value and securely transferred to verified charities and nonprofit organizations associated with the platform."
