MUMBAI, India, Sept. 12 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202421017370 A) filed by Differentiated And Sustainable Solutions Llp, Vagra, Gujarat, on March 11, 2024, for 'polyfunctional saturated compounds and process for synthesis thereof using bio-based materials.'
Inventor(s) include Pradip Kumar Dubey; and Yogesh Laxman Borole.
The application for the patent was published on Sept. 12, under issue no. 37/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present invention relates to a polyfunctional saturated compound, particularly saturated Cardanol based Polyol Epoxy synthesized using bio-based materials, preferably bio-based resins, including but not limited to, Novolak of phenolic lipid, more preferably fully side chain hydrogenated Cardanol based Novolak, and process of its synthesis, wherein polyfunctional saturated compound is synthesized when alicyclic polymer derived from fully side chain hydrogenated Cardanol based Novolak, that is Cardanol based Polyol reacts with the epichlorohydrin. Further, such compound is having excellent storage stability, mechanical properties and low toxicity and is suitable for versatile applications, both indoor and outdoor."
