MUMBAI, India, Sept. 26 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411020707 A) filed by Shobhit Institute Of Engineering & Technology, Meerut, Uttar Pradesh, on March 19, 2024, for 'portable rivet removing device.'
Inventor(s) include Anil Kumar Joshi; Shamshad Hussain; Evgeniya Zharikova; and Devyani.
The application for the patent was published on Sept. 26, under issue no. 39/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present invention relates to a portable rivet removing device, comprising a X-shaped frame 1 having a first and second curve shaped member 2 developed to be held by a user in proximity to a rivet installed at a fixed surface, a V and U-shaped plates 4, 5 attached with a second portion of first and second members 2 respectively that is engaged by user between rivet and surface to remove rivet, an artificial intelligence-based imaging unit 6 installed on member 2 for detecting presence of a snap head of rivet, a touch sensor installed on plates 4, 5 for detecting engaging of plates 4, 5 between rivet and surface, a motorized pivot joint attached between members 2 for providing movement to plate 4, 5 for separating rivet from surface, and a tactile sensor installed on plate 4, 5 for detecting hardness of rivet."
