MUMBAI, India, July 5 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202517055809 A) filed by Lg Energy Solution, Ltd., Seoul, Republic of Korea, on June 10, for 'pouch cell.'
Inventor(s) include Kim, Sang Hun; Choi, Ji Eun; Yu, Hyung Kyun; Lee, Jae Ho; and Park, Eun Suk.
The application for the patent was published on July 4, under issue no. 27/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present invention relates to a pouch cell which can improve the sealing durability of a coupling portion so as to delay or prevent venting of the pouch due to gases generated therein during the charging or discharging process of the pouch cell. The pouch cell according to the present invention comprises: an electrode assembly; an inner pouch film covering part of the electrode assembly; and an outer pouch film which is coupled to the inner pouch film while encompassing the outer circumference of the inner pouch film so as to cover the outer surface of the electrode assembly along with the inner pouch film."
The patent application was internationally filed on Dec. 08, 2023, under International application No.PCT/KR2023/020258.
