MUMBAI, India, March 14 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202617009670 A) filed by Societe Des Produits Nestle S. A., Vevey, Switzerland, on Jan. 30, for 'powdered food emulsion compositions with lentil proteins.'

Inventor(s) include Buswell, Lea; Roucher, Armand; Haas, Klara; Amagliani, Luca; and Schafer, Olivier.

The application for the patent was published on March 13, under issue no. 11/2026.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The invention relates to a powdered food emulsion composition. It comprises at least one fat ingredient and a lentil protein ingredient. The lentil protein ingredient is selected from the list consisting of lentil protein concentrate, lentil flour or a mixture thereof. Moreover, the lentil proteins of the lentil protein ingredient are not hydrolysed. The invention also relates to a method for preparing such a powdered food emulsion composition."

The patent application was internationally filed on Aug. 26, 2024, under International application No.PCT/EP2024/073772.
