MUMBAI, India, April 4 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202221073391 A) filed by Bri Mecs Technologies Pvt. Ltd., Pune, Maharashtra, on Dec. 18, 2022, for 'power generation wheel.'

Inventor(s) include Firoz Siddiqui; and Girish Kulkarni.

The application for the patent was published on April 4, under issue no. 14/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "Described herein is a power generation wheel capable of concerting a rotational energy into an electric energy. For such purposes, the power generation wheel employs a wheel, a first set of piezoelectric units installed on and arranged radially on an outer peripheral surface of the wheel, a second set of piezoelectric units 10 arranged radially on a top surface proximal to the outer peripheral surface of the wheel. Each of the first and second set of piezoelectric units includes a plurality of piezoelectric elements stacked on above another, which converts the rotational energy of the wheel into the electric energy. The electric energy so generated by the piezoelectric elements of the first and second set of piezoelectric units is 15 stored in a battery unit."
