MUMBAI, India, July 25 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202537066826 A) filed by Borealis Ag, Vienna, on July 14, for 'prediction of the ductile-to-brittle transition temperature of polymer compositions based on impact curves.'

Inventor(s) include Torres, Juan Pablo; Jerabek, Michael; Kiehas, Florian; and Reiter, Martin.

The application for the patent was published on July 25, under issue no. 30/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present invention relates to a computer implemented method for predicting the ductile-to-brittle transition temperature of a test polymer composition based on impact curves. Furthermore, a non-transitory computer readable storage medium is provided for tangibly storing computer program instructions capable of being executed by a processor, the computer program instructions defining the steps the aforementioned computer implemented method. Furthermore, the invention is directed to the use of impact curves and values indicative of the ductile-to-brittle transition temperatures of polymer compositions for training machine learning algorithms."

The patent application was internationally filed on Dec. 19, 2023, under International application No.PCT/EP2023/086651.
