MUMBAI, India, June 6 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202517037369 A) filed by Interdigital Patent Holdings, Inc., Wilmington, U.S.A., on April 17, for 'procedures for enabling wtru cooperative cell and plmn selection.'

Inventor(s) include Garcia, Virgile; Adjakple, Pascal; Pragada, Ravikumar; Zhang, Guodong; Li, Yifan; Pan, Kyle Jung-Lin; and Salim, Umer.

The application for the patent was published on June 6, under issue no. 23/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A wireless transmit /receive unit (WTRU) may be configured to perform cooperative cell selection with one or more other WTRUs. The WTRU may be configured to receive cooperative cell selection criteria information from the second WTRU. The cooperative cell selection criteria information may include one or more cells deemed suitable for the one or more other WTRUs, and/or measurement information. The WTRU may consider the cell selection criteria information as an input when selecting a cell. Once a suitable cell has been selected, the WTRU may be configured to camp on the suitable cell."

The patent application was internationally filed on Nov. 15, 2023, under International application No.PCT/US2023/079759.
