MUMBAI, India, July 11 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202541060939 A) filed by Palamuru University, Mahbubnagar, Telanagana, on June 26, for 'process development for the preparation of lewis base adducts derived from dmap.'

Inventor(s) include Neella Chandra Kiran; Golla Srinivasulu Devara; and Panduga Ramaraju.

The application for the patent was published on July 11, under issue no. 28/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present invention relates to the synthesis of four new compounds including two new oxidizing agents 2 & 4 which are prepared by a new procedure developed from our laboratory. The structures of all the four new compounds i.e. 1, 2, 3 & 4 are thoroughly characterized from spectral data. Further the application of new oxidizing reagent 4 in water as solvent for oxidation of different primary and secondary alcohols to respective carbonyl compounds is also presented. All the reactions are performed at ambient temperatures in water as green solvent and all the products were isolated without the need of column chromatography in good yields. The new oxidizing reagents are eco-friendly reagents when compared to PDC and PCC where in the oxidations are conducted in non-green solvents like DCM and DMF with tedious isolation procedures."
