MUMBAI, India, Nov. 7 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202418095735 A) filed by Basf Se, Ludwigshafen am Rhein, Germany, on Dec. 4, 2024, for 'process for preparing chemical formulations comprising a neutralized component.'

Inventor(s) include Reifegerste, Simon; Chan, Chee Jian; Altvater, Daniela; Eberius, Karin; and Kaibel, Bjoern.

The application for the patent was published on Nov. 7, under issue no. 45/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present invention relates to a continuous process for preparing a homogeneous chemical formulation comprising at least water, an ionic surfactant and a co-surfactant. The process comprises the steps of mixing at least one pre- cursor of the ionic surfactant, the co-surfactant and the neutralization agent by at least one mixing device selected from the group consisting of continuous stirred tank reactors, high shear mixers, mixing pumps, static mixers and mixing nozzles, and removing the obtained chemical formulation is through an outlet. The process is suitable for blending surfactant formulations comprising a neutralized component, and particularly useful for neutralized compo- nents which form a gel with water if the co-surfactant would not be present."
