Intellectual Property India Publishes Patent Application for 'Process Of Manufacturing Of Alkali O-Cresolate Or Alkali Pxylenolate' Filed by Dsm Ip Assets B. V.

MUMBAI, India, Nov. 21 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202517099032 A) filed by Dsm Ip Assets B. V., Maastricht, Netherlands, on Oct. 14, for 'process of manufacturing of alkali o-cresolate or alkali pxylenolate.'

Inventor(s) include Cai, Qingbai; Hu, Yanglin; Liu, Qiangqiang; Tan, Huabing; and Yang, Jun.

The application for the patent was published on Nov. 21, under issue no. 47/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present invention relates to a process of manufacturing alkali o- cresolate or alkali p-xylenolate, respectively of o-cresol or p-xylenol. It has been shown that this process using an extruder for the reaction of the compound of the formula (II) with sodium hydroxide or potassium hydroxide is very advantages and enables significantly faster reaction times and continuous process. Formula (II), wherein R is either H or CH3 and Y is SO3H or SO3 -X+ or Cl and X is either Na or K, preferably Na."
