Inventor(s) include Vasundhara Arul Murugesan; K. Lavanya; Ms. S. Agasthiya; Ms. K. Arunavarshini; Ms. A. R. Yuvanisha; Mrs. J. Ranjana; Dr. G. Chandrasekaran; Dr. V. Dharmaraj; Mr. V. Gnaprakash; and Ms. V. Manoja.

The application for the patent was published on Nov. 14, under issue no. 46/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The amount of petroleum-based polymers used in daily life has increased. Approximately 141 million to 143 million tons of plastic are utilized in food product packaging (Kimecopak Packaging Company). The main issue with plastic consumption is disposal since it is bad for the environment and people's health. Therefore, in recent years, the packaging of food goods has made extensive use of bio plastics based on starch it is easily obtainable, nontoxic, and has a high rate of biodegradability. This study examines the effect of powdered eggshell and banana peel loadings on physical (moisture content and water absorption) and mechanical (tensile strength, Young's modulus. and tearing resistance) qualities of the corn starch film. Solvent casting was the procedure used to prepare the films. The demonstration was conducted using several ratios of powdered eggshell and banana peel powder (0.1%, 0.2%.0.3%, 0.4% w/v of corn starch). The combination of these powders influences tensile and physical properties because of the strong C-H bonds found in eggshell powder, banana peel powder, and corn starch with a constant amount of glycerol (6ml) and tween 80 (3ml).To sum up, adding more eggshell and banana peel powder to cornstarch films improves their properties."
