MUMBAI, India, Nov. 28 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202531017980 A) filed by Siksha O Anusandhan, Bhubaneswar, Orissa, on Feb. 28, for 'projectile retrieval device for racquet sports.'
Inventor(s) include Dr. Sankar Narayan Das.
The application for the patent was published on Nov. 28, under issue no. 48/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A projectile retrieval device for racquet sports, comprising an elongated cuboidal structure 101 adapted to be attached onto a periphery of a racquet by means of a plurality of suction cups 102, a sliding unit 103 installed along an upper surface of the structure 101 and a telescopic gripper 104 incorporated on sliding unit 103 by means of a ball and socket joint 105 for picking ball or shuttlecock, plurality of chambers 106 provided with an iris hole 107 and a suction unit for suctioning of ball/ shuttlecock into chamber, an imaging unit 108 to determine position of ball or shuttlecock, and plurality of telescopic links 109 having rubber blocks 110 at the end for supporting the racquet on the ground surface."
