MUMBAI, India, Aug. 29 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411010513 A) filed by Lovely Professional University, Phagwara, Punjab, on Feb. 15, 2024, for 'prosthetic arm control using body energy harvesting.'
Inventor(s) include Harleen Kaur; Jagriti Chandra; Meghna Paul Chowdhuri; and Dr. Sudhakar Singh.
The application for the patent was published on Aug. 29, under issue no. 35/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "This patent application pertains to a prosthetic arm control system (100) using body energy harvesting, the system (100) comprising a prosthesis (106); an actuation unit (112); an energy harvesting unit (102); and a communication unit (120). The energy harvesting unit (102) generate the force needed to operate the prosthetic by the body movement of user. Furthermore, the prosthetists can make adjustments to optimize comfort, function, and appearance."
