MUMBAI, India, Sept. 26 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411019279 A) filed by Sanskriti University, Mathura, Uttar Pradesh, on March 15, 2024, for 'public usage seating assistive device.'

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A public usage seating assistive device, encompasses a rectangular plate 1 with hinges 2 developed to be installed on a pole, an imaging unit 3 determines the curvature of pole, helping an inbuilt microcontroller to adjust the plate 1 followed by activation of suction cups 4 to secure the plate with pole, multiple flexible strips 5 on periphery of plate form a seating platform for user, a microphone 6 enables voice commands for seating, while an ultrasonic sensor monitors the user's height, and a two-axis sliding arrangement 7 shifts the strips 5 for comfort, a weather monitoring module tracks conditions, aiding the microcontroller in actuating the telescopic links 10 to extend a canopy 11 for weather protection, a current sensor presence of electric current within pole, a speaker 12 for providing an alert to user to make distance from pole in order to prevent any fatal causalities."
