MUMBAI, India, Aug. 29 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411010783 A) filed by Chandigarh Group Of Colleges, Mohali, Punjab, on Feb. 15, 2024, for 'rain water dispensing device.'

Inventor(s) include Aishna Mahajan; Faiz Abbas; Anshul; Diwakar; Harshit Verma; and Piyush.

The application for the patent was published on Aug. 29, under issue no. 35/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A rain water dispensing device comprises an elongated curved platform 1 configured with a pair of extendable clamps 2 to accommodate a downspout, an artificial intelligence-based imaging unit 3 installed over the platform 1 to determine dimensions of the downspout, a primary motorized drawer arrangement integrated within the clamps 2 to provide extension, a rain sensor installed over the platform 1 to determine presence of rain, a motorized ball and socket joint 4 arranged on the platform 1 to provide rotation, a secondary motorized drawer arrangement 6 installed within the platform 1 to provide extension, a proximity sensor installed over the platform 1 to monitor distance of the platform 1 from any object in proximity, a PIR (Passive Infra-Red) sensor installed over the platform 1 to monitor presence of insect or reptile, and a telescopic rod 5 attached with the platform 1 for positioning a perforated plate."
