MUMBAI, India, June 27 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202517053490 A) filed by Beijing Xiaomi Mobile Software Co. Ltd., Beijing, on June 2, for 'random access method and apparatus, and storage medium.'

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "Provided in the present disclosure are a random access method and apparatus, and a storage medium. The method comprises: determining the number of times a physical random access channel (PRACH) is transmitted to a network-side device; indicating said number of times to the network-side device; and in response to having reached a first time point, starting a random access response (RAR) window for receiving an RAR message, wherein the first time point is a time point at which a terminal completes PRACH transmission of said number of times. In the present disclosure, the number of times the terminal transmits the PRACH is indicated to the network-side device, such that it is ensured that time points at which the network-side device and the terminal start RAR windows are consistent, thereby improving the success rate of receiving an RAR message and improving the success rate of random access."
