MUMBAI, India, July 11 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202521058615 A) filed by Lakshmi Narain College Of Technology Excellence, Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh, on June 18, for 'real-time scam detection and prevention system.'

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A real-time scam detection and prevention system, comprising an enclosure 101 coupled with a computing unit, a camera 102 via an extender 103 scans contact details of an incoming call, a communication unit establishes communication with computing unit to detect an incoming call, a detection module receives scanned contact details determines magnitude of risk associated with call, a set of multi-coloured lighting elements 104 visually indicates type of detected call, a sensing unit 105 in synchronisation with camera 102, detects parameters during an ongoing call to determine ongoing call being scam call, a haptic feedback unit 106 provides a haptic feedback to user if score assigned to call exceeds threshold score, an imaging unit 107 scans for machine readable codes, an articulated rod 108 to cover an imaging sensor of computing unit to prevent an activation of malicious link 103a."
