Inventor(s) include Dr. M. K. Vidhyalakshmi; Dr. S. Padmini; Vanshika Sharma; Sujal Fuldevare; Ananya Singh; Utkarsh Prakash; and Yash Phogat.

The application for the patent was published on Jan. 23, under issue no. 04/2026.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "This Smart Shuttle Tracking and Fleet Management is a system that converts traditional methods of transit into a data-driven ecosystem. This starts with all the shuttles sending their exact position through their GPS system, and at the same time gathering a lot of operation data such as engine performance and tire pressure through inbuilt IoT sensors. This is a real-time information that is vital and is quickly and effectively transported to a central cloud based system. After the centralization of them, more advanced predictive analytics are used, where machine learning is used to identify patterns and predict component failure. This analysis makes the system schedule proactive vehicle maintenance at non-service times, which dramatically reduces unexpected breaking downs, maximizes vehicle uptime and keeps the fleet on-demand.. The central system offers a potent dashboard to the fleet, managers to have a full- fledged fleet management and route optimization, system. It. is an intelligent processing of real-time travel and passenger demand data to dynamically plan routes that result in the substantial decreases in travel time and fuel costs of operation. The last and the customer facing advantage of this integration is that real time shuttle ETA and status updates are provided. The passengers are informed of the correct and the real-time location information on. their mobile devices, which results in transparency and a. vast improvement in the whole user experience by minimizing uncertainty and increasing the reliability of the service applied in the whole transportation system."
