MUMBAI, India, Oct. 31 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411023175 A) filed by Chandigarh University; and Chandigarh University Technology Business Incubator, Mohali, Punjab, on March 24, 2024, for 'reinforcing bar maintenance device.'

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A reinforcing bar maintenance device, comprising a platform 1 developed to be positioned on a surface, plurality of suction cups 2 installed on the platform 1 for gripping the platform 1 over the surface in a secured manner, an artificial intelligence-based image capturing module 3 installed on the platform 1 for determining position and bending angle of a reinforcing bar placed by a user manually over the platform 1, a pair of robotic gripper 4 installed on the platform 1 for gripping the reinforcing bar, a roller 5 attached with link installed on the platform 1 for straightening the bar in an appropriate manner and a grinding unit 6 installed on the platform 1 to remove the rust from the bar in an efficient manner."
