MUMBAI, India, Oct. 31 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202547094593 A) filed by Qualcomm Incorporated, San Diego, on Oct. 1, for 'relative pose estimation based on opportunistic reference coordinate system.'
Inventor(s) include Stefanatos, Stelios; Balasubramanian, Anantharaman; Gulati, Kapil; and Vassilovski, Dan.
The application for the patent was published on Oct. 31, under issue no. 44/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An example method of relative pose estimation for autonomous vehicle navigation performed by a first User Equipment (UE) associated with a first vehicle may comprise obtaining by a camera at the first vehicle, an image of a reference object observable to the camera and determining a first relative pose of the first vehicle with respect to a reference coordinate system associated with the reference object using the image. The method may comprise transmitting to a second UE associated with a second vehicle, a request message configuring the second UE to transmit a response message indicating a second relative pose of the second vehicle with respect to the reference coordinate system and determining a third relative pose estimate of the first vehicle with respect to the second vehicle using the first relative pose of the first vehicle and the second relative pose of the second vehicle."
The patent application was internationally filed on May 17, 2024, under International application No.PCT/US2024/029990.
