The application for the patent was published on June 27, under issue no. 26/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present invention discloses release mechanism of umbilical connector for anti-tank guided missile. The release mechanism of umbilical connector (UC) disengages umbilical connector from launcher to missile when missile is launched. The mechanism comprises two pairs of connectors for connecting missile (7), launch tube (2) and command launch unit (CLU). One pair of connectors comprising micro-D connectors (13, 14) is placed between missile (7) and launch tube (2). Other pair of connectors comprising round connector (15) and CLU connector is placed between launch tube (2) and CLU. Also, mechanism comprises lever (16) having two spring loaded plungers (22) mounted on it to arrest lever position when missile launch. The unique arrangement of mechanism minimizes transfer of unavoidable forces from missile to launcher and minimizes losses and delay in signal before missile launch. After disconnecting umbilical connector from missile, the mechanism moves connector to an isolated position as missile is launched."
