MUMBAI, India, March 13 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202421094120 A) filed by Aituring Technologies Pvt. Ltd., Pune, Maharashtra, on Nov. 30, 2024, for 'remote controlled weapon system for naval defence.'

Inventor(s) include Tushar Hindlekar; and Komal Bhangale.

The application for the patent was published on March 13, under issue no. 11/2026.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present invention discloses a remote-controlled weapon system (100) for naval defence applications. The system (100) is designed to hold heavy machine guns (HMG) and engage targets at distances of up to 2 kilometres. The system (100) comprises of a round base (1), a hollow cylindrical chamber (2), a U-shaped mounting platform (3), a horizontal mounting shaft (4). The system (100) further comprises of an azimuth motor (5), an elevation motor (6). A barrel (9) is configured to hold heavy machine guns (HMG). The system (100) uses an optical sighting unit (10), a thermal camera system (11), a laser range finder (12), and a stabilization system ensuring less than 3 m Rad deviation. A sighting unit enclosure (15) is installed to protect the optical and thermal sighting units."
