MUMBAI, India, Sept. 26 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411019322 A) filed by Sanskriti University, Mathura, Uttar Pradesh, on March 15, 2024, for 'resin collection device for agarwood tree.'

Inventor(s) include Dr. Jai Prakash Gupta.

The application for the patent was published on Sept. 26, under issue no. 39/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A resin collection device for agarwood tree, comprises of a housing 1 positioned on a ground surface growth with agarwood trees, a touch enabled screen 2 accessed by a user to provide input commands for extracting resin from trees, a camera 3 to detect trees for detecting appropriate trees for resin extraction, multiple wheels 4 to position housing 1 near tree, a telescopically operated gripper 11 to grip and position an iron rod from chamber 14 over an opening 5 carved on housing 1, a hammer 16 arranged in housing 1 to strike the rod and carve a hole in the bark, a suction unit 8 to collect the resin from bark which is collected within a vessel 9, a level sensor installed on the vessel 9 to detect level of resin collected within the vessel 9 and a computing unit to notify the user to collect the resin."
