The application for the patent was published on Jan. 2, under issue no. 01/2026.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present disclosure relates to a retrofit system and method for converting a conventional induction-motor ceiling fan into an energy-efficient Brushless DC (BLDC) motor ceiling fan without replacing the external fan structure. The system comprises a three-phase BLDC stator assembly, a permanent-magnet rotor mounted on the existing fan shaft, a controller unit including an AC-DC converter, DC link capacitor, MOSFET inverter bridge, microcontroller, and Hall sensor interface, and a mounting frame configured to align and secure the components within the existing housing. The controller executes electronic commutation, closed-loop speed control, and protection functions to ensure stable operation, reduced noise, and improved performance. A user control interface allows speed regulation and mode selection. The retrofit system decreases power consumption from approximately 70-80 W to 25-35 W while maintaining airflow and torque output. The invention provides a sustainable, low-cost solution enabling efficient modernization of widely used ceiling fans."
