MUMBAI, India, Jan. 23 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202511126808 A) filed by Chandigarh University, Mohali, Punjab, on Dec. 15, 2025, for 'rfid-based inventory management product.'
Inventor(s) include Dr. Aleem Ali; Dr. Ravinder Kumar Sharma; and Rupanshi.
The application for the patent was published on Jan. 23, under issue no. 04/2026.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present invention relates to an RFID-based inventory management system designed to automate stock tracking and improve warehouse operational efficiency. Conventional inventory techniques, such as manual recording and barcode scanning, are susceptible to human error, require significant labour and fail to provide real-time visibility. The invention integrates Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) technology with a microcontroller (Arduino), a wireless communication module and a cloud-based database (Firebase or MySQL) to achieve contactless, wireless and real-time inventory monitoring. A web-based dashboard enables users to view stock levels, track item movement, generate reports and receive alerts for unauthorized access or discrepancies. The system exhibits high accuracy and rapid tag recognition performance, with scalability suitable for small to medium enterprises. Potential extensions include mobile application integration, artificial-intelligence-based predictive analytics and multi-warehouse interoperability. The invention thereby advances smart, connected and automated inventory ecosystems consistent with Industry 4.0 requirements."
