MUMBAI, India, Aug. 1 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411003689 A) filed by Chandigarh University; and Chandigarh University Technology Business Incubator, Mohali, Punjab, on Jan. 18, 2024, for 'road barricading device.'

The application for the patent was published on Aug. 1, under issue no. 31/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A road barricading device, comprises of an extendable platform 1 positioned on a road and configured with conical bodies 2 ranging from 3 to 5 in numbers, initially positioned in proximity to each other, a touch enabled screen 3 is installed on the platform 1 to give input commands for barricading the road, a camera 4 mounted on the platform 1 for capturing multiple images of the road, suction cups 6 ranging from 4 to 6 installed underneath the platform 1 to adhere the suction cups 6 on the road, a motorized slider 8 configured between the conical bodies 2 and platform 1 for translating the bodies 2 away from each other in a manner to maintain a pre-set distance between the bodies 2, and a microphone 9 positioned on the platform 1 for detecting presence of any emergency vehicle in proximity to the platform 1."
