MUMBAI, India, Oct. 31 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411024128 A) filed by Chandigarh University; and Chandigarh University Technology Business Incubator, Mohali, Punjab, on March 26, 2024, for 'road maintenance device.'

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A road maintenance device, comprises of a body 1 configured with multiple omnidirectional wheels 2 assembled beneath the body 1 for moving the body 1 over the surface, an artificial intelligence based image capturing module 3 mounted on top portion of the body 1 determines position of the crack, a laser sensor arranged in the body 1 for determining dimension of the crack, a primary chamber 5 arranged on bottom portion of the body 1 for storing a charcoal solution, an electronically controlled nozzle 4 embedded with a primary chamber 5 for dispensing the solution in the crack, a secondary chamber 6 assembled at bottom portion of the body 1 for storing small pebbles, and an iris lid 7 arranged beneath the second chamber 6 for dispensing the pebbles."
