MUMBAI, India, July 11 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202521056323 A) filed by Shreya Rajendra Desai; Sarthak Udaykumar Joshi; Varsha Sachin Bendre; and Sanjay Bhaskar Matekar, Pune, India, on June 11, for 'robotic navigation system for an omni-directional chassis.'
Inventor(s) include Shreya Rajendra Desai; Sarthak Udaykumar Joshi; Varsha Sachin Bendre; and Sanjay Bhaskar Matekar.
The application for the patent was published on July 11, under issue no. 28/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "Present disclosure describes a robotic navigation system (100). The system (100) comprises an omni-directional chassis (100A) comprising three sets of omni-directional wheels (204), a first encoder (102) to measure linear displacement of the chassis (100A) along a first horizontal axis, a second encoder (104) positioned perpendicular to the first encoder (102) to measure linear displacement of the chassis (100A) along a second horizontal axis, a gyroscope (106) to measure angular displacement of the chassis (100A) about a central vertical axis, and a controller (108). The controller (108) is configured to receive positional data and orientation data from the encoders and the gyroscope (106) in real-time, calculate positional and angular errors based on comparisons between the received real-time data and predetermined target positions and orientations, and generate and transmit control signals to the wheels (204) based on the calculated positional and angular errors to adjust velocities of the wheels (204)."
