MUMBAI, India, Sept. 27 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202311019689 A) filed by Galgotias University, Greater Noida, Uttar Pradesh, on March 22, 2023, for 'rod shaping device.'

Inventor(s) include Pushpa Singh; and Dr. Pawan Kumar Singh Nain.

The application for the patent was published on Sept. 27, under issue no. 39/2024.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A rod shaping device, comprising a platform 1 configured with two poles 2 each attached with members 3 for positioning a rod to be shaped, a computing unit 4 linked with a microcontroller via communication module to enable user to input desired design, dimension and rod length, wheels 5 fabricated over inner-periphery of members 3 for translating rod towards disc 6, sliders 8 each equipped with two bars 9 actuates to align as per input design, disc 6 rotates to bends/twist rod to attain input shape, a camera 10 synced with laser measurement sensor for identifying length and point of cut on rod, a cutting unit 11 emits high intensity laser for cutting of rod, two clamps 12 for gripping and positioning cut end of rods in proximity and simultaneously an arc welding unit 13 welds rod ends as means of joining and providing shaped rod to user."
