MUMBAI, India, Sept. 5 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202441012482 A) filed by JAIN, Bangalore, Karnataka, on Feb. 21, 2024, for 'roller chain management device.'
Inventor(s) include Dr. Suresh Kalam.
The application for the patent was published on Sept. 5, under issue no. 36/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A roller chain management device comprises of a body 1 developed to be positioned on a ground surface opened from top portion, an artificial intelligence-based image capturing module 3 for detecting dimension of the chain, an expandable pulley arrangement 4 for expanding the gear 2 as per the determined dimension of the chain, an ultrasonic sensor for detecting ends of the chain required to be joined, a motorized gripper 5 to grip and pull the ends towards each other, thereby reducing gap between the ends, a robotic gripping unit 8 to grip the locking pins from the chamber 7 as per the dimension detected by the image capturing module 3 and securely position the pins within the ends of the chain, thereby locking the chain in a secured manner, and a micro acoustic sensor mounted within the body 1 for determining lubrication of the chain."
