MUMBAI, India, Nov. 7 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202514022343 A) filed by Hitachi, Ltd., Tokyo, on March 12, for 'rolling setting assist device and rolling setting assist method.'

Inventor(s) include Minseok Park; Masahiro Kayama; Masayoshi Tachibana; and Shigetoshi Kurihara.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "To be able to appropriately select a process condition of rolling to be optimized in order to be able to manufacture a rolling material having desired mechanical material quality. A rolling setting assist device 15 according to an aspect of the present invention includes a material quality singular point and reference point calculation unit 152a detecting a material quality singular point at which singularity in mechanical material quality occurs in a longitudinal direction of a rolling material 4, a tissue feature amount selection unit 152c selecting a tissue feature amount of the rolling material 4 having high correlation with the mechanical material quality in which the material quality singular point is detected, an element process identification unit 152d identifying, on the basis of information on the selected tissue feature amount, an element process of a hot rolling line 3 in which the singularity in the mechanical material quality occurs, and a process condition optimization unit 152e optimizing a process condition in the identified element process."
