MUMBAI, India, Sept. 12 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202517080303 A) filed by Jfe Steel Corporation, Tokyo, on Aug. 25, for 'rotating tool for double-sided friction stir welding.'
Inventor(s) include Matsushita Muneo; Tomita Kai; and Taniguchi Koichi.
The application for the patent was published on Sept. 12, under issue no. 37/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "Provided is a rotating tool for double-sided friction stir welding, the rotating tool making it possible to simultaneously suppress the occurrence of defects during welding, increase the welding speed, and improve the durability of the rotating tool. A tip end portion of the rotating tool is made of a material having a coefficient of dynamic friction of less than 0.30 and a Vickers hardness of 2500 HV or more."
The patent application was internationally filed on Feb. 21, 2024, under International application No.PCT/JP2024/006355.
