MUMBAI, India, Nov. 14 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411025558 A) filed by Shobhit Institute Of Engineering & Technology, Meerut, Uttar Pradesh, on March 28, 2024, for 'route mapping assistive device for travelers.'

Inventor(s) include M. Moni; Arun Saini; Nitin Kumar; and Neha Vashishta.

The application for the patent was published on Nov. 14, under issue no. 46/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A route mapping assistive device for travelers, comprises of a wearable component 1 developed to be worn on a user's wrist and component 1s with a touch interactive display panel 2 for selecting a destination location of the user, an artificial intelligence-based imaging to monitor surrounding of the component 1, an ultrasonic sensor for detecting presence of any protruding fixed structure in the surrounding, a laser emitter 3 for emitting a beam of laser light on the protruded structure, a chamber 4 integrated with a motorized iris lid 5 for allowing the user to access a chalk stored in the chamber 4 in view of leaving a mark at the projected beam of light to leave an impression at the route for mapping purpose in order to aid in finding correct path while returning through the route, and a temperature sensor for monitoring temperature in surrounding of component 1."
