MUMBAI, India, Jan. 7 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202511102324 A) filed by Lovely Professional University, Phagwara, Punjab, on Oct. 24, 2025, for 'rule modeling and conflict detection system for iot environments.'
Inventor(s) include Dr. Gaurav Sethi; Rishi Chopra; Vikas Verma; and Dr. Suresh Kumar.
The application for the patent was published on Dec. 12, under issue no. 50/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A rule modeling and conflict detection system for IoT environments, comprises of a formal definition module 101 for IoT rules, continuous system states, and uncertainty modelled using Network of Priced Timed Automata (NPTA), a taxonomy categorizing model 102 conflicts with an explicit Rule Conflict Interaction Analysis model describing inter-rule dependencies, an automatic conflict detection method 103 based on statistical model checking techniques for identifying conflicting rules in uncertain and continuous IoT environments, and a validation framework 104 applying the conflict detection system to complex IoT setups, such as ventilation and air conditioning entities."
