MUMBAI, India, July 5 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202311085830 A) filed by Mercedes-Benz Group Ag, Stuttgart, Germany, on Dec. 15, 2023, for 'safety system associated with a panoramic roof in a vehicle and method thereof.'

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present disclosure discloses a safety system (100) and method (600) associated with a panoramic roof (112) in a vehicle (110). It involves: receiving and recording (602), through noise detection module (102) comprises audio recorders (104), audio signals to detect in-cabin noise emanating from panoramic roof (112); and detecting (604), through object detection module (108), presence of human entity near panoramic roof (112) when speed of the vehicle (110) is higher. Classifying (608), through AI module (114), the audio signals and determining corresponding loudness level. In case the determined loudness level exceeds a threshold limit or presence of a human entity near the panoramic roof (112) is detected, when speed of the vehicle (110) exceeds a safety limit, it involves triggering (610) alert prompting to close panoramic roof (112) of the vehicle (110) and/ or reduce speed of the vehicle (110)."
