MUMBAI, India, Nov. 14 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202547097316 A) filed by Kardex Produktion Deutschland Gmbh, Neuburg, Germany, on Oct. 9, for 'safety system for an automatic storage system and an automatic storage system.'

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The invention relates to a safety system (1) for an access station (5) of an automatic storage system (3), which access station is accessible to an operator (9) via an access level (7) and which storage system has a conveyor device (17) for conveying stored goods carriers (11) into and out of a deposit area (13) of the access station (5), wherein the safety system (1) has a primary monitoring device (23) for monitoring the access level (7) and wherein the primary monitoring device (23) is designed to generate a primary alarm (51) when the access level (7) is entered by an object (30) or an operator (9). The invention also relates to a storage system (3) comprising a safety system (1) of this type and a method for operating a storage system (3). According to the invention, in order to avoid dead times without compromising safety, a safety system (1) is provided which is designed to generate a stop signal (53) after a primary alarm (51) has been generated. The safety system (1) is also designed to generate a secondary alarm (61) after a primary alarm (51) has been generated. After initially generating a primary alarm (51) and then a secondary alarm (61), the safety system (1) generates an emergency off signal (69)."
