MUMBAI, India, Sept. 12 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411012900 A) filed by Chandigarh University; and Chandigarh University Technology Business Incubator, Mohali, Punjab, on Feb. 22, 2024, for 'screw fastening device for hollow workpieces.'
Inventor(s) include Amman Jakhar.
The application for the patent was published on Sept. 12, under issue no. 37/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A screw fastening device for hollow workpieces, comprises of a hand held frame 1 configured with a handle accessed by a user, a microphone 3 installed on the frame 1 accessed by a user to provide voice commands for fastening screw into a hollow workpiece, a laser projector 4 to highlight the user-specified area over the workpiece, a cutter arranged over a T-shaped telescopic rod 5 to carve a hole into the highlighted area, a holding unit 7 to enable the user to engage screw over the holding unit 7 that is to be fastened into the hole, a telescopic pole 8 configured in between rod 5 and holding unit 7 to insert screw into the hole and a motorized ball and socket joint 9 installed between holding unit 7 and pole 8 to fasten the screw."
