MUMBAI, India, May 30 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202311079695 A) filed by Chandigarh Group Of Colleges, Mohali, Punjab, on Nov. 23, 2023, for 'seat belt wearing assistive device.'

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A seat belt wearing assistive device, comprising an elongated body 1, held by a user while wearing a seat belt installed in a vehicle, a C-shape hook 4 engaged with a buckle configured with seat belt manually by user, a laser acuity sensor detecting dimension of a cavity crafted within buckle for actuating multiple hinges 6 integrated within hook 4 to tilt hook 4 in accordance with detected dimension of cavity for gripping buckle, a pressure sensor detecting pressure applied by hook 4 for activating a speaker 7 for notifying user to apply more pressure to facilitate dragging of seat belt, and a microphone 8 providing a voice command regarding breaking of vehicle window glass in case of emergency for actuating a pneumatic pin 9 to extend and retract in a continuous manner for breaking window glass, thereby assisting user in case of emergency."
