According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A seat management system for public transportation, comprising a user interface adapted to be installed with a computing unit to enable a user input for maintaining a personal profile including personal details and emergency contact information, connected with a central server configured with a communication unit, a booking module is configured with server and accessed via user interface to enable booking of tickets, a prediction module configured with server and accessed via user interface predicts probability of seat availability before boarding based on real-time data and historical patterns, a ticketing unit is installed at entrance of vehicle for on-location booking of tickets, a pressure transducer is installed in each seat to detect occupancy, and an allocation module allocates tickets based on a predefined priority list during surges."
