MUMBAI, India, Aug. 29 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411011301 A) filed by Teerthanker Mahaveer University, Moradabad, Uttar Pradesh, on Feb. 19, 2024, for 'seating assistive system for railway passengers.'
Inventor(s) include Vineet Saxena.
The application for the patent was published on Aug. 29, under issue no. 35/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A seating assistive system for railway passengers comprises of a platform 1 utilize to position on a surface of a train, a camera 2 is mounted on the platform 1 for capturing multiple images of surrounding of the platform 1, a laser acuity sensor integrated on the platform 1 for detecting dimension of the passenger, a weight sensor mapped on the platform 1 for detecting weight of the passenger, a pair of telescopically operated handles 4 mounted on the platform 1 to extend for allowing the passenger to take support, at least four flaps 5 hinged at each periphery of the platform 1 to deploy the flap for preventing falling of the passenger, a touch enabled screen 8 mounted on the to enter a berth (12,13), and an audio unit 10 installed on the platform 1 for alerting the user that the train is about to reach the user's destination."
