MUMBAI, India, March 13 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202641024616 A) filed by Nri Institute Of Technology; Ms. V. Likhitha; Mr. T. Hemanth Naga Narasimha Rao; Mr. S. M. D. Javeed; Mr. P. Lakshmi Charan Sai; and Mr. G. Siva Sankara Rao, Eluru, Andhra Pradesh, on March 2, for 'secure blockchain-based e-voting with aadhaar otp and face liveness verification.'

Inventor(s) include Ms. V. Likhitha; Mr. T. Hemanth Naga Narasimha Rao; Mr. S. M. D. Javeed; Mr. P. Lakshmi Charan Sai; and Mr. G. Siva Sankara Rao.

The application for the patent was published on March 13, under issue no. 11/2026.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "Secure Blockchain-Based E-Voting with Aadhaar OTP and Face Liveness Verification The idea offers a safe voter verification system that combines face recognition, blockchain-based anonymous vote recording, and real-time liveness detection. In order to prevent spoofing efforts before identity matching takes place, the system employs a dual-layer biometric verification architecture in which liveness detection using a trained MobileNetV2 deep learning model comes before face recognition using ArcFace embeddings. Preliminary identity confirmation is provided via two-factor authentication using OTP verification and Aadhaar validation. For reliable spoof identification, several video frames are examined using majority voting aggregation. Voting is made possible by time-limited cryptographic tokens that are issued upon successful verification. Votes are recorded as anonymous hashes on a blockchain, guaranteeing immutability and ballot confidentiality. Voters are guided through the authentication process by the web-based interface, which also offers real-time verification feedback. This integrated method overcomes significant security weaknesses in existing electronic voting systems while maintaining usability and accessibility."
