MUMBAI, India, July 25 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411004732 A) filed by Chandigarh University; and Chandigarh University Technology Business Incubator, Mohali, Punjab, on Jan. 23, 2024, for 'secured scissor holding device.'

The application for the patent was published on July 25, under issue no. 30/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A secured scissor holding device, comprising a pair of conical extendable bodies 1 configured with each other developed to accommodate blades of a scissor to be secured, a push- button 2 is crafted on one of bodies 1 that is pressed by user for securing blades within bodies 1, a camera 4 mounted within each of bodies 1 for detecting dimensions of blades, a motorized iris lid 5 configured with each of bodies 1 to close for gripping blades within bodies 1, a telescopically operated link 6 installed within each of bodies 1 and attached with a graphite stone roller 7 for translating the link 6 along length of blades to scrub blades via stone roller 7 for increasing sharpness of blades and a fingerprint sensor crafted on one of bodies 1 for enabling user to feed fingerprints for verification to access scissor."
