MUMBAI, India, Jan. 23 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202511128684 A) filed by Baba Farid College Of Engineering And Technology; and Baba Farid College, Bathinda, Punjab, on Dec. 18, 2025, for 'seed spacing correction system and method for post-broadcast sowing.'

Inventor(s) include Dr. Manpreet Singh.

The application for the patent was published on Jan. 23, under issue no. 04/2026.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present disclosure relates to a seed spacing correction system (100) for post-broadcast sowing in cereal and pulse crops. The system (100) comprises a vibration sensing module (102) configured to detect micro-vibrations generated due to irregular seed distribution, a rolling rake assembly (104) for preliminary soil disturbance, and a seed density detection roller (106) configured to generate mechanical-resistance data indicative of seed clusters and sparse regions. A processing and control module (108), comprising analog-to-digital conversion circuitry, digital preprocessing circuitry, an inference engine, and control logic circuitry, evaluates fused sensor data to determine seed-distribution conditions. Based on this evaluation, a plurality of seed push-arm assemblies (118) is selectively actuated to laterally reposition seeds. A power supply module (120) and modular hitching frame (122) facilitate field-ready operation. A corresponding method (300) enables real-time sensing, evaluation, and mechanical correction to improve post-broadcast seed spacing."
