MUMBAI, India, Oct. 31 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202547094040 A) filed by Nokia Technologies Oy, Espoo, Finland, on Sept. 30, for 'selective duplication.'

Inventor(s) include Wu, Chunli; and Sebire, Benoist Pierre.

The application for the patent was published on Oct. 31, under issue no. 44/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "Embodiments of the present disclosure relate to communication for duplication. In one aspect, a first device receives, from a second device, a configuration indicating that a duplication of PDUs belonging to a group of at least one PDU set is enabled for a radio bearer based on information of PDU sets associated with the radio bearer. If the duplication for the group of at least one PDU set is to be activated, the first device determines the group of at least one PDU set based on the information of the PDU sets, and duplicates the PDUs belonging to the determined group of at least one PDU set. In this way, finer control for duplication within a radio bearer may be achieved. Thus, it is ensured that QoS is met without consuming too much resource."

The patent application was internationally filed on Mar. 20, 2023, under International application No.PCT/CN2023/082608.
