MUMBAI, India, March 13 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202611007376 A) filed by Motorama EV Private Limited, Noida, Uttar Pradesh, on Jan. 25, for 'self-cooling electric motor with shaft-mounted airflow-generating fin structure.'

Inventor(s) include Abhishek Gupta.

The application for the patent was published on March 13, under issue no. 11/2026.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "Disclosed is a self-cooling electric motor comprising a motor housing defining an internal cavity. A stator assembly is fixedly disposed within the internal cavity of the motor housing, wherein the stator assembly comprises a plurality of electromagnetic coils arranged about a central opening. A shaft is rotatably supported within the motor housing and extends through the central opening of the stator assembly. The shaft comprises an airflow-generating fin structure extending radially outward from the shaft relative to a rotational axis. Rotation of the shaft drives the airflow-generating fin structure to induce a directed airflow within the internal cavity. The directed airflow is directed toward the stator assembly to extract heat from the plurality of electromagnetic coils by forced convection during operation of the electric motor."
